Sony Xperia series has been coming across a rough time ever since their flagship smartphones failed to woo the customers and critics alike. Sony took several bold steps to prevent the situation from worsening, and launched Xperia X series earlier this year. Though the design language wasn’t changed much, there were several changes that were made inside. While the devices are yet to be launched in majority of markets, Sony has already launched the updated version of one of the devices- Sony Xperia XA Ultra.
First of all, it is a huge device sporting a 6-inch display. Being a Sony smartphone, it has Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2 for better colour reproduction on the screen; and the display has a resolution of 1920 x 1080. The device weighs 190 grams, thanks to the huge display, with a thickness of 8.4 mm. Unlike other high end X series devices, the Sony Xperia XA Ultra does not come with a fingerprint scanner.
It is powered by MediaTek Helio P10 octa-core processor clocked at 2.0 GHz and has Mali T860MP2 GPU. The RAM capacity of the device is 3 GB, and the internal storage is of 16 GB, which is expandable up to 200 GB. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS out of the box, and has Xperia UI on top. The company brought many changes to their UI, and has made it even better.
There is an option to dual SIM connectivity too, which will be dependent on the country where it is launched. The Xperia XA Ultra supports 4G connectivity along with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS and NFC. The battery capacity of the Xperia smartphone is 2700 mAh. The Sony Xperia XA Ultra will come in White, Black and Lime Gold colour options. The company didn’t give any detail regarding roll-out and pricing.
