Samsung has been trying since a few years to promote its own OS Tizen for mobile devices. To ensure its mass reach, Samsung launched a bunch of budget-priced smartphones that provided all the necessary features at a really low price. The latest one from the company to come preloaded with Tizen OS is the Samsung Z2.
The device is a basic smartphone with not-so-fancy design language. The display on the front is of 4 inches and has a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. The TFT display is has quite thick bezels all around. As mentioned earlier, the Samsung Z2 runs on Tizen OS 2.4. While the Z2 is a budget device, it does support 4G VoLTE along with dual SIM card support.
A 1.5 GHz quad-core processor powers the device; the exact make of the processor isn’t known yet. For multitasking, there is 1 GB of RAM and it has 8 GB of internal storage which is further expandable. The company has given a battery of 1500 mAh to power up the device. A 5 MP camera sits on the back along with an LED flash and there is a VGA camera on the front.
The Samsung Z2 will be available in Gold, Black and Wine Red colour options for a price of Rs. 4590. The device will go on sale starting August 29th exclusively from Paytm and other offline channels. The device also comes with Reliance Jio Preview Offer, and the buyers will get unlimited access to HD calls, SMS and 4G data services from Jio along with access to premium Jio apps.
