Motorola is back with yet another smartphone in their range of Moto devices, and the latest one to enter the flock is the Motorola Moto X Force. The company has been teasing the launch of the device in India from some time, and today it finally happened. The device has been launched a premium price point, and comes with some interesting features.
The main highlight of the phone is its shatterproof display, which got the device its name ‘Force’. The 5.4 inches display sports a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels, bringing the pixel density to 540 ppi. The AMOLED display comes with Moto Shattershield, that can withstand any kind of drop from any height. And we mean it by ‘any height’. Several tests performed by professionals have shown that the device didn’t get even a single scratch after being dropped from a height of more than 1000 feet, leave aside the cracking of the screen.
While the device is one of the best in terms of display, its performance is also equally solid. The company has given the snapdragon 810 octa-core processor clocked at 2.0 GHz and Adreno 430 GPU. Motorola Moto X Force also comes with 3 GB of RAM, and an internal storage of 32/64 GB, which is expandable up to 2 TB with a microSD card. The two variants with different internal storage are priced differently, we’ll talk about that later.
The phone has a 21 MP camera on the back, which is accompanied by dual tone flash, and f/2.0 aperture. The camera is capable of 4K video recording. The front camera of the device is of 5 MP that supports 87-degree wide angle lens, and it also has an LED flash for taking selfies in low light condition. The Motorola Moto X Force runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box, and is upgradable to Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
On the connectivity front, the device sports hybrid dual-SIM card slot, of which, one can be used for adding a microSD card. It also supports 4G LTE connectivity, besides Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1 LE, GPS, GLONASS, and NFC. The device is powered by a 3760 mAh battery that supports Motorola’s turbo charging mode, and also supports wireless charging. It weighs 169 grams, and is 7.6 – 9.2 mm thick due to its curved back.
Moto Moto X Force will be available in Black and Grey with Ballistic Nylon finish and White colour options from Flipkart, Amazon.in, Spice Hotspot and Croma starting from February 8, 2016. It has been priced at Rs. 49,999 for the 32 GB variant, and Rs. 53,999 for the 64 GB variant.
